Sheffield Sheffield Lake Youth Soccer Association (SSLYSA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization looking to develop and enhance the love of soccer within your child(ren). It is entirely run by volunteers with a presiding Board of Directors who have worked to bring recreational soccer back to the Sheffield Lake/Sheffield Village community. The league is not limited to just the residents of Sheffield Village and Sheffield Lake. It is open to anyone (including surrounding communities) who want to play and learn. All games and practices are held at Guenther Park in Sheffield Lake.
Through SSLYSA, no experience is required for children to play- we accept all levels of skill! We practice dribbling, foot skills, passing, and play small-sided games ranging from 3v3 to 5v5. Practices and games are broken up into two age groups, Littles U5-U9, and Bigs U10-U15. We would like to build a travel team in the future to be able to play within Lorain County.
As SSLYSA is entirely volunteer based, we are always looking for extra hands to help! Parents, older siblings, or those simply looking to help kids, are encouraged and invited to join the volunteer Board of Directors. We typically meet once a month (or less, depending on schedules, and ability to meet virtually is an option) or so, as needed. Usually the Board meets before or after games or practices to discuss open items.
We are looking for anyone willing to help with (not limited to) the following:
Coaching
Concessions
Fielding
Fundraising
Photography
Registrations
Social Media & Website Maintenance
Sponsorships
